Air-cooled Volkswagens have a fire problem that most owners never think about until it happens to them or someone they know at a show. Aging fuel lines, decades-old wiring, and carburetors that run hot inside a tight enclosed engine bay create exactly the conditions where a small ignition turns into a total loss. This collection was built specifically for the air-cooled VW community with two automatic fire suppression systems sized to fit the engine bays you actually work with. The TR200FK is for Beetles, Ghias, and Things. The TR300FK is for Type 2 buses and Vanagons.

The TR200FK covers engine compartments up to 24.37 cubic feet at engine fire rating, which fits the compact air-cooled flat-four in its factory tin without any issues. The TR300FK covers up to 36.73 cubic feet at engine fire rating, giving you the tube length to route properly through the larger rear engine bay found in buses and Vanagons. Both systems use FK-5-1-12 clean agent. No residue, no corrosion, and safe for wiring and painted surfaces if the system ever fires.

Neither system needs wiring, a power source, or any modification to your vehicle. The tube is both the detector and the storage vessel for the suppression agent. When temperatures in the engine bay hit the activation threshold, the tube melts at the hottest point and discharges the entire agent directly onto the fire source. It does this automatically in seconds whether you are behind the wheel or standing across a parking lot. Installation is zip ties and about 30 minutes. Service life is up to 10 years with zero required maintenance.
